Dear Member,

Attached please find the August 2024 issue of the chapter newsletter-- The Sarasota Breeze -  and the reservation form for the August Luncheon to be held on August 16th at  Michaels on East. The August Luncheon  speaker will be Manasota Goodwill Veteran Service Program Manager Todd Hughes. 
 
As you will see in the newsletter, the YAHOO program is very active, with sunsets at the beach, fishing, tours and planning for the Naval Academy football game in Tampa. The August Meet and Greet event will be at the Grillsmith restaurant on Tamiami Trail near Stickney Point on August 14th at 5:30 pm.

Dear Member,


Attached please find the July 2024 issue of the chapter newsletter-- The Sarasota Breeze and the reservation form for the July Luncheon to be held on July 19th  at  Michaels on East. The July Luncheon speaker will be MOAS member  Major Alexander Vanston, USMC (Ret), who will be speaking about the POW/MIA Accounting Command and his work as a POW/MIA Recovery Team Leader.
 
As you will see in the newsletter, YAHOO programs are kicking in again, with the first one being this Wednesday June 25th when we will start with a sunset watch at Siesta Key Beach.

Attached please find the June 2024 issue of the chapter newsletter-- The Sarasota Breeze -  and the reservation form for the June 21st Luncheon at  Michaels on East. The June Luncheon speaker will be the President & CEO of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, Fredrick (Rick) Piccolo who is expected to speak about the current and future growth of the area airport.

There is a bit of a hiatus for the YAHOO programs for May/June timeframe — until June 25th when we will once again start with a sunset watch at Siesta Key Beach.

Attached please find the May 2024 issue of the chapter newsletter-- The Sarasota Breeze - and the reservation form for the Wednesday May 8th Luncheon at Michaels on East.

NOTE: The luncheon is on a Wednesday as most of the county graduations conflict with our normal luncheon date on the 3rd Friday of the month.

The May Luncheon is our scholarship awards luncheon and we will be honoring 17 high school graduating seniors and their parents at the luncheon. Sarasota Mayor Liz Alpert will be the awards presenter and guest speaker.

We would very much appreciate if you would consider sponsoring the price of a luncheon for a student and/or parent. Please add the additional luncheons to your reservation form - or if you are unable to attend, please send the reservation form with your check to Mary Gordon as indicated on the Luncheon Reservation Form (Page 11)

 Dear Member,


Attached is the April 2024 issue of the chapter newsletter-- The Sarasota Breeze -  and a luncheon reservation form for the chapter’s April luncheon on Friday April 19, 2024.  

Were are privileged to have Lt Col George Hardy, USAF (Ret) as our April luncheon speaker. The Tuskegee airman is one of the few military members who have flown combat missions in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Please join us to hear a very extraordinary individual speak about a career that spanned a signifiant period in the history of our country.

Please note the Vietnam Veterans Commemoration to take place at Patriot Plaza (National Cemetery) on March 26th @ 1:00pm. See Page 9 for information on this event.

Please participate in the Giving Challenge, which runs from Noon on April 9 to Noon on April 10, and support our Sarasota Military Officers Foundation and our scholarship fund.  You can find the appropriate information and links to the site on Page 8 of the newsletter — along with a couple of “Thank you” notes from two veteran recipients of our scholarships

Peggy O’Connell has arranged for the April Meet & Greet at the Stonewood Grill on University Parkway on April 10th — see page 9 of the newsletter.

As you can see from the calendar on Page 12 of the newsletter, there are many events planned during the next month —— I hope you will join us and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow MOAS members.. Looking forward to seeing you soon!!
